Tata Consultancy Services Limited (TCS); one of the world's leading Information Technology Services along with Education World - India's pioneer education news and analysis magazine organized TCS EW Teachers Award 2008. The award aimed at celebrating outstanding teachers and bring them to the forefront of academic community.

To create awareness about the award and invite entries, DMs were sent to 4000 schools across 37 cities, poster campaign was conducted in 600 schools across 6 cities and Teacher Contact Program was conducted in 75 schools across 5 cities and an advertisement was also printed in Mentor magazine. Apart from this, teacher could send in their entries on website. More than 1600 entries were received from across the country. All the entries were evaluated at 3 levels; Level 1 – Entry forms, Level 2 – Essay writing & Level 3 – Interview Round. Winner was selected based on the results of all the 3 levels.

The award ceremony was conducted in Lucknow and the winner was awarded with a laptop and a cash prize.
